It was surprising how much she had actually given him. The old record player, the 45s, the movies. There was a small photo album of various parties and weddings they had attended. She touched one, smiling softly. That was what happiness looked like.
It was the work of a few hours to pack everything up and move it out. When she had returned to her room, she didn't put anything away. Instead, she sat on her bed, clutching one of his pillows to her chest, feeling tears well up once again.
