Courtesy of Collins, there is an abundant supply of food from the restaurant in Santa Fe.

There are cushions, blankets, and plenty of space in which to stretch out.

Outside the door is a sign: This is a Tofu-Free Zone.

And the door is unlocked.

"That's what I've heard some others say. We'll get this figured out." Sara doesn't know how, but that's irrelevant. It will be done.

She nods, looks at the ground, and then looks up at Sara. Suzi's not a tough person. She's durable, but not tough. What Angel said was true, though: she'd burn the bar down if it'd bring Whistler back, "H-h-he's in th-there. C-c-can't g-g-get out b-b-but h-he's in th-there and I'm n-n-not l-l-losing him."

"I know," Sara says gently. "I'm not losing my brother-in-law, and my dear friend isn't losing his husband either. There are plenty who want to figure this out."

She nods, running her hands on Ray's book. "S-s-sometimes I h-h-hate th-this p-p-place." Most of the time, actually, but she's not going to say that unless she's drunk. Too many people love it here.

Honestly? It feels so good to hear someone else say that. She manages another tiny smile at that, "W-we h-have t-to k-keep c-coming b-back. Th-the p-plants W-w-whistler and I n-need d-don't g-grow on his w-world."

"This is where I met my fiance, and many I now consider my family. I couldn't willingly leave this place permanently, even if I wanted to. I love too many here," Sara says quietly, returning her smile with a sad one of her own.

"I m-m-met W-whistler h-here." She agrees, fiddling with her own tentacles, "B-b-but...I a-also s-s-spent m-my f-first t-twent-ty four d-d-days d-dying s-s-slowly b-before w-we found s-someone t-to h-help me." Suzi loves people here too, but...

attrition, more psychospatial disorientation than she's ever felt before, loss of Keon, loss of her father, loss of her time and world, loss of purpose...and now this. She doesn't want to be here.

She shrugs, "W-w-whistler...m-m-my W-whistler...m-m-made G-garion ch-change h-him int-to G-gen. M-my other h-h-half." This is why she's getting him back. You can't abandon love like that.

"We'll get him back," she says. Sara hasn't broken a promise yet. "I know my friend Angel has talked to Ray about this--he seems to think that some sort of shock will help snap people out of it."

She nods, slowly, and says, "G-g-got s-s-some id-deas t-too." because plotting happened last night, and there is an in-Milliways thread to be timed to before Suz showed up here which will affect the research thread here. "I w-won't l-l-lose him. Ev-ven if I h-h-have t-t-to f-f-follow h-him t-to k-k-keep him."
